How Signal works

What Signal reads

Signal only works with what you hand it. The quickest way is the Chrome extension: on a LinkedIn profile, search page or inbox, you click the Signal icon and it reads the page you are looking at, at that moment, and nothing else. If you cannot install extensions, the Signal bookmarklet does the same job from your bookmarks bar. To score your whole network at once, upload the Connections.csv and Shares.csv from LinkedIn's official data download. Signal does not crawl LinkedIn, does not log into your LinkedIn account, and does not buy data from third party brokers. The only data in the system is data you provide.

How people get ranked

Every contact is scored against your own offer with a simple additive model: each factor adds a visible weight to the total, so there is no black box. This approach follows the equal weighting research by Dawes (1979) and the fast and frugal heuristics work of Gigerenzer and Goldstein (1996), which show that simple linear models consistently match or outperform complex ones in real world prediction tasks. For every contact you can see exactly why they scored the way they did.

How a draft is written

Signal gives Claude (by Anthropic) three things: your voice profile, built from messages you have already sent, what is known about the contact, and your offer. Claude writes a first message in your style. It lands in your Drafts queue, where you can use it, edit it or throw it away. When you are happy, you copy the text and paste it into LinkedIn yourself. Signal never sends a message for you.

What Signal never does

• Signal does not crawl LinkedIn or any other platform. It reads one page, only when you click.
• Signal does not send messages for you. You review each draft, copy it, and send it yourself.
• Signal does not connect to your LinkedIn account or use your credentials.
• Signal does not perform bulk operations of any kind.
• Signal does not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
• Signal does not store your LinkedIn password or access token.

Monthly draft limits

Every plan has a monthly draft limit. Free accounts get 3 drafts (and can earn up to 20 more). Solo accounts get 30, Operator accounts 200, and Studio accounts are unlimited. Limits reset on the first day of each calendar month. Signal also watches for patterns that look like misuse and may suspend accounts that break the acceptable use policy.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, any time, from the Settings page. Deletion removes all your data from our systems, cancels any active subscription, and cannot be undone. Prefer email? Write to [email protected].
